Northern Virginia Tour
October 13-14, 2018

The Decorative Arts Society embarked on a Northern Virginia Tour from October 13-14, 2018. This special two-day long event brought participants to George Washington’s Mount Vernon, Frank Lloyd Wright’s Pope-Leighey House, and George Mason’s Gunston Hall.


Day Trip to Newark Museum

DAS contributors were invited on a private tour of Seeing America: Native Arts and American Painting, Sculpture and Decorative ArtsBallantine House, and Arts of Asia at the Newark Museum. Seeing America is an exhibition of the Newark Museum's renowned American art collection. Starting in colonial times and ending in the 21st century, Seeing America examines the powerful impact that artists have had on shaping American culture and identity.

Elizabeth Cleland, Associate Curator of European Decorative Arts and Sculpture, led the Decorative Arts Society on a tour of the exhibit Relative Values: The Cost of Art in the Northern Renaissance.
